why do the some quilt fabric novelty fabric?
I am doing a show and tell about novelty fabrics and i just want to know two things, why do they call it Novelty fabrics and how does the factory put the design on the fabric? Is it woven, stencilled, ?
Novelty is any print fabric that has the print only on one side. The factory applies the paint to the fabric just as they would any other product that is painted with a design. They start with a pattern, divide it by the colors and then roll the fabric through the painting process.
Woven and batik have the same design on both sides of the fabric.
